I forgot I had this website.

I should make some art.

Final Exams

  • Mood: Distracted
  • Listening to: the humming of my laptop
  • Reading: the words on the screen
  • Eating: green leafy veggies
  • Drinking: white grape + cranberry + strawberry juice
So...

Still no art.

But alas! There's an excuse!

College! 50,000 dollars worth of it!

And I'm taking my final exams as we speak. I'm also considering taking a semester or a year off. I'm not enjoying college, or at least the classes that I am required to take before I can take classes in my degree.

I switched majors, by the way. From neuroscience to architecture. I'm tired of pushing my creativity to the side to make way for science. And I've discovered that I don't want to work in a research lab for the rest of my life. I'd much rather prefer to be social and struggling financially, than to be comfortable but working endlessly. What's the point if I never have time to enjoy life?

If I take some time off from school, I'll be doing art. I have so many ideas and so many new projects that I want to start ASAP. And now I finally have the time.

Just 2 more finals...tomorrow and wednesday, then the summer is mine!

Wish me luck!

Recently I've been perusing through my high school artwork, and I've decided that I want to get back into the game. I haven't arted in almost 2 years, and I'm sick of sitting around, wasting my talent.

So what were the reasons/excuses I used to put off expressing myself artistically for the last year and a half...well, time for some self-exploration:

1) lack of motivation
2) lack of inspiration
3) intimidation from seeing the works of other talented, young artists
4) finding the time
5) affording the equipment

Reasonable, yet easily overcome if I put my mind to it...So in response to those excuses, I:

1) got a job at the Student Art Association, where I get to use free art tools and resources
2) saved money and purchased new equipment/paints/paper/markers/etc.
3) bought a planner to schedule in time for art
4) traveled around the city taking pictures of people and stuff that inspires me
5) got a deviant art FINALLY so that I could get motivated

Ideally, I'll post up new pictures every so often to chart my progress. *sigh* Ideally is the key word there.
